Of course this always happens just after I buy a whole new set of WiFi tools and gadgets. In Switzerland no less, where everything has a tendency to be much more expensive anyway.

Perhaps I should resist my urge to buy new toys as soon as I want one. I could have saved myself a lot of money with this.

Very sweet deal. Anyone know why wireless PCI cards are still so expensive? A friggen wireless NIC is twice as expensive as the router. Mind boggling.

Its only a 'b' though. The 'g' version was just release thats supposedly 5x faster.

This deal has been going for a few months now and it just doesn't seem to go away; I'm already the owner of two. I remember the good old days when I paid $250+ for an Airport basestation, a basestation that just has awful awful range.

Dan, the best price I found for a wireless PCI was from zipzoomfly -- this one. $29.50 after rebate, free 2nd day shipping and it works delightfully well.

Other places are blowing these out too, Fry's and Office Depot have nearly the same pricing with rebates. However, if you're going to invest in one of these, just pony up for the 802.11g version (most are still compatible with 802.11b). I just got one (with a rebate) from Fry's for $50, and you'll be happy you spent the extra $20 whenever you upgrade to the g-version card to go with it...

I wouldn't recommend the netgear. My neighbor has one. He has it set to not broadcast SSID and with 128-bit ASCII enryption. We were going to share his DSL line. The wireless on the router stops working after about 8 hours and needs to be rebooted.

I thought the Linksys 802.11g was the best one on the market?
