I think this kind of thing can be eliminated through the Bulletin Board settings. For example on Matador Records, employees are identified by the Matador flag logo so you always know it's really them.

This kind of situation isn't that unusual. Mike Watt (of the Minutemen and latterly of the Stooges) is a regular contributor to the Yahoo group dedicated to his music, as is Derrick Bostrom to the similar Meat Puppets list.
