$79?! I have to buy Panther, I have to get an iPod, there's $.99 songs to be downloaded and a real life to attend to (eating, drinking, paying for gas [if we invaded Iraq for oil it sure as hell don't show]).

Call me and the 12" a skank, but no mulah (as in money, not top Al Queda leaders) for swank.

I'd like to get a condom for my 17 incher (Studio display, not TiBook, alas) but I'm with Ry on this one. Us po' folk just have to deal with dust.

My favorites are from Spire - very rugged, most don't look like a laptop bag. I do wish they had better colors, though. The backpacks come with a nice rigid divider that keeps the non-computer contents of the bag from slamming into the computer when you walk around.

I'm a Timbuk2-er myself. And a far superior use of Flash than AirBagCraftWorks (that site's pretty much totally unusable).

Is it just me or does the photo on airbagcraftworks.com border on child porn? Why oh why would you put the backside of a boy in a wet bathing suit as on your splash page selling laptop bags?

Slightly off topic...but when did "all about" become such a widely used phrase? I have nothing against it, but rather am curious as to its current popularity.

aaron, i was thinking the same myself...

I bought an expansive bag from Crumpler for a few reasons. 1.) It looks really nice. 2.) It does an excellent job protecting my computer. 3.) It does not look like a computer bag. This last one is the most important because when you have a $3k piece of equiptment it is not a good idea to say, "Hey, look at my black-obviously-a-computer-bag bag!" Laptops get stolen and the $110 I paid for my bag has been completely worth it. I did the same thing for my photo equiptment because there bags are great.

crap. expansive = expensive.

Aaron and Mathew, I believe the company is German. Perhaps that explains it?!

I love my STM Alley bag - Australian company Standard Technical Merchandise.

I put my laptop in a damp potato sack. Sure, it ain't perfect but you can't beat the price!

Acme Made makes excellent bags. Things that are made by real people earning a real wage with quality materials cost money. That's a fact, Jack.

anyone havve a preference between tom bihn and acme made? i like teh cost of tom bihn and the quality is apparently awesome. but, i love the look of acme made, and apparently the quality isnt that bad either.

Perceptions do not limit reality.
